The official name is 'lateral epicondylitis' which means that there is inflammation of the tendons on the outside of the elbow. When playing pickleball, backhand shots and serves can put a strain on the forearm muscles and cause tiny tears in the tendons. Improper technique, the wrong size paddle grip, or a paddle that is too heavy can also contribute to this condition. If you (or a pickleball friend) have pain or tenderness on the outside of your elbow, or pain radiating down your forearm into your wrist, it could be Pickleball Elbow, and it needs to be checked. Symptoms include weakness in grip strength, pain when extending your wrist or fingers, or when twisting your forearm. This is not normal, could keep you off the court and will only get worse if left untreated. Our unique combination of therapies is customized to your needs and can include massage therapy, exercise therapy and shockwave treatments. Each of these quick and non-invasive treatments are designed to accelerate the healing process and get you out of pain. Schedule your Pickleball Elbow exam today! 1-928-778-7996
