TREAT BACK PAIN WITH NONSURGICAL OPTIONS: $99 FOR EXAM, X-RAYS & REPORT OF FINDINGS, EXPIRES JANUARY 31, 2026
Do you know the top two reasons in the U.S. for seeing a doctor?
Number One is respiratory infections and number two is BACK PAIN. During the majority of those visits the primary care provider (or emergency room) prescribes muscle relaxants and pain meds. Those can be helpful if you are in acute pain, but they certainly don’t address the underlying cause of the back pain. There is usually a reason that your body is calling for help and a good chiropractic ‘detective’ can get you out of pain quickly and effectively, without drugs or surgery.
Both Dr. Andy Nelson and Dr. John Cumiskey are very thorough in their spinal exams, and perform all the appropriate orthopedic and neurological testing, along with gathering your back pain history. Our onsite digital X-ray is another major clue giving component. Put those two parts together and you will have your back pain answer! Occasionally new patients will say they don’t want us to take x-rays. Our reply is: That’s like asking your mechanic to fix your car without looking under the hood. How do they know what is wrong?

You may have heard the term “A picture is worth a thousand words” and that is certainly true when it comes to neck and low back pain. HOW you function is a result of the condition of your spine and a lot can be learned from seeing your x-rays.
One of the clues in treating back pain is how long you have had it:
-
Acute back pain happens suddenly and usually lasts a few days to a few weeks
-
Subacute back pain can come on suddenly or over time and lasts 4 to 12 weeks
-
Chronic back pain may have come on quickly or slowly, but chronic pain persists longer than 12 weeks and occurs daily

To solve your back pain mystery we must also determine if there was a traumatic injury? If not, is there spinal degeneration such as a disc herniation or arthritis? With 26 million Americans between the ages of 20 and 64 experiencing back pain we want you to know exactly WHAT is going on and WHY. Educating our patients is a huge part of our job.
Once the cause of your back pain has been discovered we have all the tools to eliminate it. Each of our patients has a unique treatment plan which can utilize any combination of chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, shockwave, exercise therapy, massage, e-stim, ultrasound, home exercises and home traction, etc. We provide a comprehensive and effective treatment plan for all our back pain patients. Our passion is getting people out of pain and back to enjoying life. Back Pain Sufferer

“I can’t say enough about Dr. Andy Nelson and Prescott Preferred Chiropractic. After struggling with persistent back pain that affected everything—from work to simply getting a good night’s sleep—I finally decided to try spinal decompression. It was the best decision I’ve made for my health.
Dr. Andy took the time to truly understand my pain, explain the process, and create a treatment plan that felt tailored just for me. The spinal decompression sessions were comfortable, and after just a few visits, I noticed a major reduction in pain and tension. Now, I’m moving easier, sleeping better, and finally feeling like myself again.
