KNEE HEALTH: How to walk with confidence and stay active without surgery.
If your knees are not co-operating, it is time to change that!

Are you limping, or struggling to go up and down stairs?
Do you find it hard to stay balanced while walking or standing?
Is getting in and out of a car difficult?
Do you have a fear of falling and are missing out on life as a result?
Read on….we can help you.
Knee 101: There are two main bones that make up the knee. The top one is the femur, or thigh bone, and the bottom one is called the tibia or shin bone. In between them is a shock absorber or spacer called the meniscus. The patella or knee cap protects and glides over the knee joint. which is held in place by connective tissue called ligaments.
Your knee should be straight up and down and parallel to the floor, but after a slip and fall, an accident, or just muscular weakness, the knee can become misaligned. When that misalignment is not fixed quickly those shock absorbers start to wear unevenly. (Think of the tires on your car!) This is called degenerative joint disease or osteoarthritis and there are four stages of this degeneration - Mild to Severe. Severe osteoarthritis is not reversible, so we are passionate about preventing patients from deteriorating to that point.
Have you ever heard of “Movie Theater Knee”? This condition causes pain in the knee when going from sitting to standing. There is usually no injury to the knee but rather a weakness in the quadriceps muscle. Learning to strengthen those muscles, along with some non-invasive, in-office treatments can eliminate this pain and get you back to enjoying life again.
Runners knee often causes a tracking problem with the knee cap due to the iliotibial band being too tight. Most often patients don’t recognize this tightness, but state that they are experiencing pressure on the outer part of the kneecap. Sadly, many doctors do not know how to realign the knee or even bother to x-ray and check the alignment. If you are experiencing knee pain, either above or below the front of the knee, behind the kneecap or in the very back of the knee, there is help!
If you have knee pain, what are your choices? Some people immediately opt for surgery and medications and some people sit on the couch and deteriorate. If neither of these options are acceptable, we have the solution for you! Our passion is helping people get out of pain and stop relying on someone, or something, to help them get up and down. We want you to be active and moving again, because ‘Motion Is Life’!

If losing that motion and your quality of life is making you fearful, it’s time to act! We have invested in some unique and powerful tools to restore our patients' active lives again, without drugs or surgery!
